El término municipal de Trevélez forma parte del Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, y se ubica en su vertiente norte. A 1.476 metros de altitud, el pueblo más alto de España, se encaja en las laderas del Mulhacén y disfruta del aire fresco y limpio con el que se curan sus afamados jamones.

Trevelez constituye un municipio con lugares de enorme interés cultural, arquitectónico y paisajístico. Cuenta con la iglesia parroquial de San Benito del siglo XVIII, reformada tras la Guerra Civil, en la que existen imágenes de gran valor y con la Ermita de San Antonio, en la que se encuentran las imágenes de La Virgen de las Nieves y de San Antonio.
